Alright so it’s like this…

It’s suddenly hip to rap with your real name and not dress like a rapper but still be a rapper. While my impetus was a twisted web of references to pop culture and the industry, along with a light trauma incurred over the years it seems like the curse of the avant-garde (people catching up) has finally hit. Or it would have, if I was at all commercially-successful as an entity. But still, Andy ‘Warhol’ is a typo, the appearance and disapperance of Mike Jones has left its mark, and my given name “Devin Kenny” is somehow a baffling enigma though its components are borderline banal (though I have encountered many across the world who had never heard of the name ‘Devin’).

It’s also hip to rap about video games.

On the plus side for the plus-sized but not excluding anyone, i.e. the quest to balance integrity and success, misspelling your own own name in subtle ways is not yet cool, and self-referential rap songs concerning early 1990s Windows computer games (Minesweeper, Pipe Dreams, Chip’s Challenge, Ski free, etc.) are not not yet cool, and I’m still broke.Whew.

Oh, and this blog was really about eroding the lines between self-promotion, editorializing, intimacy, and criticism.

I hope no one was offended. Also, I found the first link posted above to be quite perplexing…I can’t tell if it’s comedy or not, but it’s definitely relevant to this post. Peace be upon you all.
